Asus has launched a new line of CPUs and motherboards aimed at gaming, and it’s launching them all in the same form factor as its other products.
The Z490 motherboards, which Asus says are designed to support “the next-generation of modern PC gaming”, come in two sizes: the entry-level model, and the premium-priced model.
The entry-stage Z490 board, which has a base price of $499.99 and an MSRP of $799.99, has a 16-core CPU clocked at 3.5GHz and a 16MB L3 cache.
It has a 256GB SSD, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics card.
The premium model has a more expensive base price and an Intel Core i7 processor clocked for 3.4GHz, a 256MB SSD and 8GB DDR4 memory.
The base model has an Nvidia GTX 980Ti graphics card and a 256-GB SSD and a 128GB SSD.
The premium model, which comes with an Intel i7-7820HK graphics card, has an 8GB RAM and 256GB PCIe SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics board.
The base model is equipped with a 32GB SSD but comes with a 3.7GHz GPU and 16MB of GDDR5 memory.
It also has an Intel GTX 980 chipset, which is a bit slower than the one found in the entry model.
The higher-end version of the Z490 has a 1.9GHz GPU with 512MB of VRAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD.
