By Jeremy Hutton-Smith, BBC NewsTech, UK – Asus, one of the world’s leading laptop makers, has released a new laptop that offers the power of a high-end desktop computer and a range of modern games.
Asus Zephyrus Z390 is the company’s first gaming laptop, a new version of its ZenBook UX303.
The laptop uses the Z390 chipset and can support Intel HD graphics, Nvidia Quadro cards and 8GB of RAM.
Its predecessor was a Z270 and used a 1TB HDD.
The Z390 has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, and it is equipped with an Nvidia Quadro M6000 GPU.
The system features a 128GB SSD, a 13.3-inch, 720p IPS touchscreen, a 2TB SSD and a 256GB solid state drive.
The processor is a quad-core 1.5GHz Intel Core i7-4790HQ processor with 4GB of memory and a GeForce GTX 980M graphics card.
It has a 7th generation Intel HD Graphics 5400.
Asus said that the Z370 motherboard, with a 5GHz dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo processor, can handle up to 64GB of DDR3 RAM.
Asus’ ZenBook Zephyr is also available for £1,299, which is a 20% premium over its predecessor.
The new Asus Z370 is equipped the Z610 chipset, with 8GB memory and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050M graphics, and comes with the new Asus UX303, which offers up to 8GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 880M graphics processor.
The Asus Z170 is priced at £1 and has an 8GB DDR3 memory.
Other new Asus ZenBook laptops include the ZenBook Flip 2, which has a 2.5 GHz quad-thread Intel Core m3 processor with Intel HD 4000 graphics, a 1GB Nvidia GeForce 940MX graphics card, and a 1.7-inch display.
The ZenBook X1 Carbon is priced from £999, and has a quad Core 1.9GHz Intel Pentium processor with Nvidia GeForce 7100M graphics.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga is priced around £1 000.
Asus says that the new ZenBook Yoga has “excellent performance and high performance for gaming”.
There are also a number of new Asus models including the Zenbook M500, which includes a 1GHz quad-cpu Intel Core M3-2100 quad-GPU, 1GB of GDDR5 RAM and 1TB of hard drive storage.
It can run Windows 10 and Android 8.0 Oreo.
